The mission of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.

National CASA and our network of over 1,055 local community program offices support volunteers serving children. The role of local CASA programs is to recruit, train and support volunteers in their work with abused children.

Maryland CASA Association is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1997 to facilitate the continued development and success of Maryland’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs to ensure that every abused and neglected child in the State has a safe, permanent home.

Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services is a government agency that assists people in need by administering a wide range of public assistance programs. Primarily, they help low-income people as well as families and children in crises.

They help low-income county residents access food stamps, medical assistance and temporary cash assistance. In addition, they investigate allegations of child/adult abuse and neglect. Too often, the silent victims of family violence and volatile family dynamics are children. When necessary, we remove children from their families - either temporarily or for the long term - when the children are not being properly cared for by their families.

Network of Care is a highly interactive, single information place where consumers, community-based organizations and municipal government workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important information. The resources in this "virtual community" include a fast, comprehensive Service Directory; links to pertinent Web sites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use Library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards; and many others.

The Early Childhood Coalition (ECC) is a non-profit organization created to accelerate Anne Arundel County's efforts in ensuring all children enter school fully ready to learn. Comprised of community leaders in the public and private sector, we engage the community on behalf of young children, birth to five years, to make school readiness a priority in Anne Arundel County.
